When a pool starts looking its age, homeowners usually ask the same question: do I just need new plaster, or does the whole thing need work? The honest answer depends on what's happening under the surface.

If the shell is sound and the problem is mostly the finish (rough texture, stains, fading color), a replaster with proper prep is usually enough. The old surface is prepared, a new coat is applied, and the pool looks and feels new again.

If there are larger problems, such as widespread hollow spots, cracks in the shell, or failing areas around the waterline, the job becomes more of a remodel. That means more removal, more repair, and more prep before the new finish goes on. It costs more, but it's the difference between a finish that lasts and one that fails early.

The only way to know is an inspection. We sound the surface, look at the shell and waterline, and give you a written price for the scope your pool actually needs, with a discount based on its size.
